Job/Person Summary

Cove School is looking to appoint a Pupil Premium Student Mentor to join Cove School’s Raising Aspirations Team. The successful candidate will work with a range of students in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant. Our aim is to help every student overcome their barriers to learning and raise their academic aspirations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of our most disadvantaged students, impacting on their school lives and general wellbeing, as we provide extensive wrap-around care for every individual at Cove.

This role is an exciting opportunity to work with the wider school community, staff and parents in supporting student progress and attitudes to learning in the school. The successful candidate will need very good interpersonal skills and be confident in dealing with students, staff and parents on a day to day basis. You will have a good sense of humour, coupled with excellent administration and communication skills and attention to detail.

The position involves in class support and various planned interventions to support the students in school and outside the curriculum, liaising with parents and progress leaders, as well as working with external agencies.

A good understanding of potential barriers to successful learning and experience of working in a school environment is desirable.
