Job/Person Summary

We require a suitably qualified ELSA specialist to work in a friendly, community focussed Primary school. The school is committed to an inclusive policy and works hard to provide a supportive and safe space for all pupils. The headteacher invites collaboration whilst supporting individualism within her pupils, with each receiving the support and the push they need to reach their potential.

The school is committed to your work life balance and invests in all staff’s wellbeing with regular supervision sessions and an open door policy.

The successful candidate will work as part of a developing inclusions team. The role requires a team player who can adapt to differing abilities and situations. We believe the successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, passionate, and resilient. An essential requirement for the role is to be able to build and maintain strong relationships with pupils, parents & staff in equal measure.

Candidates for the post should have a passion for educational literacy and Mental Health support strategies while being able to understand the importance of holistic development and offer nurturing and enriching experiences to enable the development of the whole child.

The role will combine using ELSA training to work as a Learning Mentor, running with small group sessions and working with children on a 1:1 basis. The rest of the time will be spent supporting a child with an EHCP. This child will also benefit greatly from your ELSA training.

For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to work as a HLTA across our school as part of this role.

This role also comes with a five hour per week lunchtime supervisor duty.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed. Please call 01962 869496 to arrange a tour.
