Job/Person Summary

We wish to appoint a Special Needs Assistants to provide support for key children who have additional needs including ASD and behavioural. The post will be a mixture of working with EHCP children, small groups in class support and overseeing interventions of children with SEN. Previous experience of supporting children with special needs is essential. You will be qualified to at least NVQ2 (or equivalent or be training accordingly or willing to complete your training as part of your role) in a childcare or teaching assistant qualification and have good literacy and numeracy skills.

The post requires the successful applicants to work with the Class Teacher, Support Staff, SENCOs, Outside Agencies and Parents and Carers.  Applicants should therefore have excellent communication skills and have a proven record of working effectively as part of a team.  The successful candidates will be offered the appropriate support and training for the role.
