We are seeking a successor to our current headteacher, who has developed the school during a period of intense national change. We are looking for an inspiring and inclusive individual who will continue to develop our school and who puts children at the centre of all decisions.
You will be an inspirational and dedicated leader who sets the same standards and levels of ambition for pupils and staff as you do for yourself. You will sustain the school’s excellent performance and develop it beyond the curriculum. You will relish leading and developing outstanding teaching. You will embrace the many opportunities that leading an island school brings: the community, including with the other schools; and a range of sports and arts. You will have a deep interest in inclusivity and making a school a happy place where all its pupils thrive.
Mill Rythe is a happy, caring and thriving school. Our children are polite, well behaved and enjoy coming to school and learning. You will be supported by a talented and highly dedicated staff team, supportive parents, an excellent governing body and a school community that values each other and is committed to achieving the best.
Mill Rythe Junior School was Hayling’s original school. Hayling itself has over 3 miles of beaches in between the Solent and Langstone and Chichester Harbours. It is within easy reach of the cathedral cities of Portsmouth and Chichester, as well as the South Downs National Park. Hayling has a very supportive local community and the school has strong well-established links with that community and with the other four schools on the island.
If any of the above appeals, please do visit the full advert when it goes live from 7 June 2021.
Mill Rythe Junior School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
