Glenwood School is a Local Authority Special School within the boundary of Hampshire County Council. It provides a secondary education for pupils with an Education Health Care Plan for Special Educational Needs which fall within the moderate learning difficulties range. This includes pupils with Speech and Language difficulties, social communication difficulties and autism.
PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To further develop the support and provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within Glenwood. At Glenwood we have a wide range of pupils presenting with additional learning needs which include moderate learning difficulties (MLD), speech, language and communication issues, Autistic Spectrum Condition (including Asperger’s), and sensory/physical/medical needs.
This new post plays a key part in this provision through a commitment to the school’s vision, values and ethos, by working effectively across subject and pastoral teams and by delivering high standards of teaching and learning to a small number of pupils in a resourced provision.
REPORTS TO: Specialist Provision Lead and Wellbeing Manager
DISCLOSURE LEVEL: Enhanced
WORKING TIME & SALARY: Full Time MPR + SEN allowance, however applicants with other equivalent experience or qualifications in this area of specialism will be welcomed at appropriate salary.
