Our current, much loved and respected Headteacher, is leaving the school at the end of this academic year, and the Governors of Cherbourg Primary School are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher from September 2021 (or from January 2022).
We are seeking to recruit a headteacher who will continue to lead our school into the future, building on our inclusive ethos. We treat everyone as an individual and value social development and personal progress as much as conventional achievement measures.
Our new Headteacher will have resilience and drive, along with a proven track-record of delivering strong educational outcomes.
The successful candidate will have the ability to inspire and bring out the best in everyone. They will understand and uphold the existing standards and ethos of our school, preserve the inclusivity and be passionate about creating academic excellence throughout, working with our committed, hard-working team of staff and children.
Cherbourg Primary is a lovely school with many outstanding features, supporting children to make good progress and meeting many of our pupils' diverse needs. Our motto of 'We're here to learn!' is at our heart, and we are ambitious to raise our standards and promote learning for children, adults, trainees, students, and parents throughout the year.
We are committed to meeting the needs of all pupils through various opportunities such as our broad and balanced curriculum, Forest School Programme and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Resource Provision.
Our Jarjums (SEMH) resourced provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities is a unique feature of our school and is a model of good practice which is recognised by parents and professionals alike. We are rightly proud of the work Jarjums does, and the benefits it brings to all children, and hope that you will share our passion for its continued success.
If you are a visionary and innovative leader with experience to motivate and deliver excellence in all areas and lead our school into the future, then we would love to hear from you.
Cherbourg Primary school is situated in central Eastleigh, which lies between Southampton and Winchester on the M3 corridor, with good transport links.
COVID-safe visits to the school from prospective candidates are welcomed and encouraged. Please contact the school by phoning 02380 612557 or by emailing the school email@example.com
Please find attached the Headteacher information pack and application form.
Candidates should complete the application form and return it so that it is received no later than midday 14th May 2021.
You should provide a full statement in support of your application, which should not exceed two sides of A4. Please do not restate the factual details already included elsewhere in the application.
When submitting your application, please use the following format as the email subject heading: School Name – Position – Your Name.
Applications are acknowledged within 1 working day of receipt. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within this time, please contact the recruitment team immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org
Cherbourg Primary School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
