Do you want to join the friendly Premises team in a successful primary school?

St John’s is an inclusive and popular primary and nursey school situated in Southampton city. The school is seeking to appoint a well organised, efficient Assistant Site Manager to join our team to provide assistance around the school.

About the role: The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive and able to resolve facility issues, as well as having strong organisational skills. Duties will include assisting the Site Manager in matters regarding buildings, grounds, security and maintenance of the site, and general cleaning duties as required. It is preferable that the successful applicant will have a good range of skills and experience including a good level of building maintenance, ideally gained in a similar environment, together with general DIY skills for hands on repairs and maintenance.

This is a busy and varied role so you will need to be flexible and practical in your approach, coupled with a good working knowledge of health and safety requirements. We are looking for an Assistant Site Manager to work as part of a team committed to keeping the school environment clean and hygienic for staff and children. Previous cleaning experience in a school or commercial environment would be advantageous.

You will be expected to:

Start Date: 24 May 2021 – pending receipt of satisfactory pre-employment checks

Contract type:   30 hours pw, 6 hours per day Monday – Friday, 52 week contract. Hours to be worked between 12-6pm.

Contract term:  Permanent  

Salary: Grade 4, Scale point 6, £10.28 ph – actual annual salary - £16,087 per annum
