Job/Person Summary

Orchard Lea Infant School and Orchard Lea Junior School formed a federation in December 2020. We now have a very exciting opportunity for you to develop your career by becoming the inspirational leader of our newly formed Federation. You will be guiding the schools as they move forward as a federation whilst still retaining their individualities.  Both schools received a Good rating from their most recent Ofsted reports.

The Executive Headteacher position is a new role and we are therefore seeking to appoint an experienced, inspirational individual; with strong communication skills, who will work collaboratively with committed governors and a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff in order to provide a motivational, enjoyable and safe environment for our children to learn and grow.

As our Executive Headteacher you will be able to:

• continue to build on the existing foundations to ensure a successful and enduring federation partnership between the two schools
• encapsulate the shared values and ambitions of our schools, whilst also recognising their distinctive characters, embedding these at the heart of a joint strategy
• motivate and inspire pupils and staff, acting as a role model, instilling a culture of collaboration, shared trust and respect
• optimise resources and current educational developments to deliver the best possible outcome for every child.

We will provide support to assist you through your on-boarding period - setting you up for success and thereafter provide you opportunities for on-going professional development.

The staff teams at both schools have a passion for delivering the best for each and every child with a focus on the development of the whole child. Classrooms are well resourced, with up to date technology and the outdoor learning environment is well-developed. You will be supported by strong leadership teams, a supportive parent community and a board of governors who will work with you to achieve our shared goals.

• can empower, develop and maintain strategic leadership capacity to support succession planning and meet the needs of both schools
• can initiate innovative developments and implement, refine and shape these in partnership with staff, pupils, parents and governors
• has high expectations of children; their achievements and behaviour
• is able to lead and inspire a committed and hard-working team to achieve excellence
• demonstrates a passion for education and ensuring the very best academic and holistic outcomes for each child
• is a clear thinker and excellent communicator in a wide range of settings
