Job/Person Summary

Castle View Academy are looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner in Geography to provide inspirational leadership, motivation and lead best practice in Teaching and Learning within Geography.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Director of EBACC, ensuring the faculty achieves academic outcomes that exceed the national benchmarks.

This is an exciting opportunity whereby the successful candidate will act as a member of the extended leadership team, modelling leadership skills that cultivate, nurture and develop talent within the EBACC Faculty.

Main Responsibilities:

To raise the standard of education and outcomes within Geography
To lead Geography, ensuring schemes of learning are implemented effectively and lessons are delivered across the department, enabling rapid and sustained progress
To ensure high quality teaching and learning is evidenced across the EBACC Faculty and specifically in Geography
To actively contribute to the whole school teaching and learning strategy
To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching across the faculty
To develop an ethos of striving for excellence by the pupils
To work in partnership with the Director of EBACC
To deliver outstanding lessons in Geography
To be ambitious for yourself, the academy and the students that attend
