We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified teacher to plan and deliver teaching to enable children who have aspects of ‘lost learning’ to make the good progress they are capable of this year. The role will involve working across different year groups and be predominantly working with children in small groups, although some whole class teaching may also form part of the role. We plan to offer additional teaching to children across the ability range (including at Greater Depth) in half termly units/blocks.
We are looking for a teacher who can demonstrate
We can offer you
This role is suitable for teachers of any years’ experience. Our main criteria is to appoint a teacher with a proven record of achieving excellent outcomes for children. We want someone who has high aspirations for all children and whose approach to teaching helps children to rise to the challenge with confidence, independence and enjoyment.
This role is for the Spring and Summer Terms only in the first instance. The hours are not negotiable unfortunately due to the rather complicated timetabling that we have to have in place at the moment! Initially this post will be to support children in Years 3 and 4 but this will be reviewed based on pupil need across the school. Our intention is to offer support in small groups across two afternoons per year group in one/more areas of learning but this is also subject to change as we want to work as flexibly and responsively as possible.
Visits to the school can be arranged after Christmas by prior appointment in line with our Covid 19 Protocol. Further details can also be discussed via TEAMs or a telephone call, please the school office who will be happy to help.
Heatherside Junior School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
