Salary Details: Grade B Step 1 - 3 fte £18065-£18371, Grade C Step 1-5 fte £18426 - £19407

Hours of Work: Mon- Fri 8.45 - 12 noon in the first instance.

Job/Person Summary

16.25 hours in the first instance, building up to a maximum of 30 hours once EHC plan has been finalised.



We are looking to appoint a Special Needs Assistant to join our positive, caring, friendly and supportive team of teachers and support staff working Monday – Friday 8.45 till 12pm until 31.08.21 in the first instance.


The successful candidate will support an Autistic Year R child.


This contract will be on a temporary basis, reviewed regularly as long as the child remains at the school and the EHC plan remains in place.



Salary will be negotiated subject to relevant experience B or C grade


You will be supporting the child individually, within the class or in small groups, to provide intervention as directed.


You will be required to provide accurate records and daily feedback to the teachers.


An understanding of the Early Years and KS1 curriculum would be desirable. Further professional development opportunities will be available.


You will need good written and oral communication skills and the ability to use your initiative to work self-directed or as part of a team to enable pupils to succeed.


Applicants must have:

C grade at GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics

The ability to provide evidence of the impact they have had on pupils they have worked with.

The ability to work under pressure with good time management skills.

A flexible, calm and professional approach.

An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.


Experience working with children with additional needs would be an advantage, especially those with no functioning social communication.
