Rowhill School is a Pupil Referral unit for 11-16 year old pupils, set on a well-resourced and beautiful site. We educate students who are permanently excluded, at the risk of permanent exclusion or cannot attend a mainstream setting for medical reasons. We are a caring and forward-thinking school, a “vibrant place to learn” (Ofsted March 2018), where academic achievement and the personal development of each pupil goes hand in hand.

We are looking for a LSA to join our team here at Rowhill School and work under our SENDCo to support students in and out of the classroom, including the supervision of whole classes where intervention is needed. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake administration duties, behaviour management, support morning and lunchtime duties in school and cover some examination invigilation. There will be times when the candidate will meet with parents and other stakeholders to discuss progress, attendance and daily student behaviours.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least GCSE level and have proven literacy and numeracy skills, having achieved Grade 4, or above, in Maths and English. The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate resilience, resourcefulness, initiative, good time management and patience.
*Initially for one year with the potential to extend or make permanent
