Peter Symonds is located in Winchester. It is a vibrant sixth form college which has been rated by Ofsted as ‘outstanding’ in every respect. Our unofficial College motto has long been ‘Counting in Ones’ and we work hard to make this a supportive and friendly place to study, with every student treated as an individual. Not only is this at the heart of our work with our students, but we also strive to support and value our staff in the same way.
The Study Support Department comprises an unusually large team of dedicated and professional staff, committed to the support of students with a wide range of specific learning difficulties. It has a very strong reputation, both within and outside the College, for the quality of its work. This is a rare opportunity for a qualified teacher to join the team as a specialist SpLD Teacher/Assessor. You must have a teaching qualification and hold either a current Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) Assessment Practising Certificate or a post-graduate qualification [level 7] in individual assessment. Experience in supporting students with SpLDs in the post 16 sector, particularly assessing under JCQ regulations, is highly desirable.
This is a part time post for two days a week. There may be some flexibility as to the days of work and this will be discussed at interview.
More details and information on how to apply are available on our website at www.psc.ac.uk under Staff Vacancies. If you require further assistance please phone the Personnel Department on 01962 857557 or email email@example.com quoting the reference number.
We are dedicated to safeguarding the students in our care. To that end, a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure will be required in the event of an individual being offered a position within our College. Our staff undertake regular safeguarding training and are subject to ongoing safeguarding scrutiny.
