Rowhill School is a Pupil Referral unit for 11-16 year old pupils, set on a well-resourced and beautiful site. We educate students who are permanently excluded, at the risk of permanent exclusion or cannot attend a mainstream setting for medical reasons. We are a caring and forward-thinking school, a “vibrant place to learn” (Ofsted March 2018), where academic achievement and the personal development of each child go hand in hand.
Our school strives to cultivate a desire for learning and self-improvement so that students leave Rowhill School with the tools needed to succeed in their onward pathways, we strive to develop well mannered, confident and culturally rich individuals. We are proud that Ofsted (March 2018) recognised that “relationships between adults and pupils are exemplary” and that “parents are overwhelmingly positive about the difference the school is making to their child.”
We are looking for a Cover Supervisor and Behaviour Assistant to join our team here at Rowhill School and work under our Behaviour Manager to support students in and out of the classroom, including the supervision of whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake administration duties, behaviour management, support morning and lunchtime duties in school and cover some examination invigilation. There will be times when the candidate will meet with parents and other stakeholders to discuss progress and reintegration of students.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least GCSE level and have proven literacy and numeracy skills, having achieved Grade 4, or above, in Maths and English. The ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate resilience, resourcefulness, initiative, good time management and patience.
*Initially for one year with the potential to extend or make permanent
We would like interested candidates to telephone for an informal discussion and visit the school before the interview date.
