Job/Person Summary

Are you:

Now is a great time to join Denmead Junior School.  In February 2016 we came out of Special Measures to a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, after only 15 months.

We are looking for a very special person to join our team of LSAs and HLTAs who guide and support our children through excellent questioning, an understanding of the learning process and by promoting independence. Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of supporting children with ADHD.  Flexibility to support children during our lunchtime play every day would also be very beneficial.

We are looking for three main qualities:

Attention to detail: your role will mean grasping the fine details of a teacher’s planning and ideas and making them a reality for our children.  You will need to work closely with the class teacher, being flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.

Desire to learn: we are all learners and this role may mean for you, learning about a different age group or different school setting.  That’s fine! Through hard work, support and experienced staff, we all work together to ensure that we are constantly learning what’s best for our children.

We want you to care about our children: they get one chance at school and their junior school experience is so crucial to getting this right for life.  We want you to be motivated by their success, know that they learn when memorable experiences are created on a daily basis and need someone who has clear boundaries but is kind and caring.

To be able to successfully support these children to access the curriculum and make faster rates of progress in their learning you will need to have excellent English, Maths and communication skills.
