We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to supervise groups of students in a teaching environment. This role will particularly suit a candidate who is considering a career in teaching in the future and if this were to be the case, an extensive CPD package would be offered to support this goal.
The role of a Cover Supervisor is to look after classes of students while they complete work, planned and set by teachers. It may also include leading intervention classes with small groups of students, supporting in the supervision of students on off-site visits and other responsibilities appropriate to the role.
This post is suitable for candidates with previous experience of working with young people or those who wish to gain experience.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) and have proven literacy and numeracy skills, having achieved a Grade C (level 4) or above in English and Maths. Experience in classroom management and presentation skills are an advantage but not essential. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate resilience, initiative, good time management, patience, a sense of humour and a pragmatic approach to dealing with teenagers.
