Salary Details: £23,115 - £24,140 pro rata per annum ( actual salary £19,772 - £20,648 per annum )

Hours of Work: 37 hours, Term time only (39 weeks)

Job/Person Summary

Located in Alresford, Hampshire, Perins is a well respected academy school providing education to students aged 11-16. We pride ourselves on our welcoming team of highly skilled staff, committed to supporting our students in order to enable them to achieve their potential. We prioritise the wellbeing and professional development of our staff, and provide an excellent education to our students. We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities and are particularly well known for our sporting achievements and our impressive musical theatre productions which our students perform each summer.

Duties:

As a Teaching Assistant at Perins School, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational development of students. Your responsibilities will include:

- Working within the classroom with individual students, and with small groups of students who are undertaking intervention work.

- Promoting and encouraging the inclusion of students with special educational needs.

- Contributing to progress reports, annual reviews and target setting.

- Supporting students' use of ICT and Independent Learning Systems.

- May be asked to supervise students at lunch break.

- May be asked to scribe for students in lessons and exams when necessary.

- Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Qualified to at least Grade C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students and colleagues.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Interest in special educational needs and / or inclusion.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
