Job/Person Summary

The Head teacher is seeking to recruit an experienced and talented individual with QTS/QTLS to work as part of the Middle Leadership Team and to help deliver an outstanding and inclusive education for children with SEMH needs and associated difficulties. Cody Oaks is an impressive addition to an already well-resourced school site, and provides a unique opportunity in the north of the county.

Working as a whole school lead, you will develop and implement our KS4 Maths Curriculum, as well and review and develop our KS3 curriculum offer in this area.  Our aim is to broaden our curriculum to allow students to engage, work hard and achieve outcomes allowing them to progress once they finish their time with us at Cody Oaks.  You will demonstrate effective implementation and monitoring skills to identify impact of intervention and adapt accordingly to meet the changing needs of the learners at Cody Oaks.  You will provide a safe and inclusive environment that supports learning, promotes respect, honesty, communication and team work.  You will have a strong presence around the building throughout the day and support on aspects of the daily operations.

This full time role will have a teaching allocation of 0.8

 Who we are:

Samuel Cody School is a school for children with Moderate Learning Difficulties and associated needs. Our new Unit, Cody Oaks is a state of the art purpose built provision for children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.  Cody Oaks opened in September 2022 to 45 students, we are currently in our second phase of growth with 65 students joining us this year.  In September 2024 we will reach full capacity and welcome 90 students to Cody Oaks.  Cody Oaks prides itself on the continuous development of its therapeutic approach towards behaviour, identifying a common philosophy and approach to behaviour will be a key part of a recruitment process.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist environment with outstanding resources including therapy rooms, music, art, and technology and sports facilities – soon to include a gym to be accessed by students and staff. Visits to the site are encouraged.
