Job/Person Summary

15 hours per week – Flexible hours


Alderwood School is seeking to appoint a minibus driver/caretaker to start as soon as possible. You will have a minimum of two years’ driving experience and hold a current clean and valid driving licence with class D1. Midas certificate is required; however, training will be provided for this. You will also be responsible for the maintenance, checks and administration of the minibus.


Good interpersonal skills, a commitment to safeguarding pupils and a knowledge of driving, health and safety are essential, as is a positive attitude, awareness and understanding of a school environment.


This is a term-time only position, although there may be scope for overtime during the school holiday periods. The successful candidate will work 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, ideally between 3.00pm to 6.00pm (although there is scope for flexibility within these hours).


Applicants should be able to work flexibly and be able to use initiative. Experience of an education setting would be an advantage, but is not essential. However, you must be able to demonstrate an affinity for working in an environment with school-aged pupils.


Alderwood School is an ‘all through’ school on the outskirts of Aldershot split across 3 sites with approximately 850 pupils on our senior site and 1,487 in total. This role will initially be based at our senior site.
