Job/Person Summary

Saxon Wood is a small specialist school with capacity for 44 children, with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. We have 1 HLTA, 4 Senior Learning Support Assistants and 22 Learning Support Assistants, and small class sizes, enabling us to deliver a child-centred curriculum.

Having recently achieved the Wellbeing Award for Schools, we care about everyone within our school community.

Our recent Ofsted inspection in May 2023, when we achieved Good with Outstanding features, recognised the hard work and school improvements we have made, and commented on the outstanding behaviour and attitudes of our children.

We require an exceptional teacher with the following qualities:

• Experience in teaching children with special educational needs, either in a mainstream school or specialist setting
• A passion for teaching and learning, giving every pupil that right amount of challenge.
• A real commitment to working with our young people who have severe and complex needs, staff, parents and other professionals.
• Flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
• Effective communication with excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work both independently and as the key motivator and inspirational leader for the class team
